The North Sea Lux – a celebration watch made in-house

The North Sea Lux is a contrastful steel watch, partially mirror finished, partially bead-blasted, and looks at home in formal as well as relaxed settings. The 40mm case is a stunner, yet tough enough to endure an active lifestyle outdoors, even under water. It’s equipped with an automatic mechanical movement, regulated to a high level of accuracy. The dials are blasted with glass, hand-painted and lacquered, resulting in a mix of creamy and granular surface. Luminous material is then applied underneath in a sandwich construction.

The past year we’ve experimented with premium quality materials that doesn’t disrupt the ecosystem or engage in animal cruelty. This resulted in one of our favourite straps, namely that made from Scandinavian Salmon. It’s skin is full of natural details giving the strap loads of character, and although tough as nails, the Salmon leather is incredibly soft, resulting in unparalleled comfort. The material is ecologically coloured, lacquered and hand-stitched by our partners in Tuscany, Italy, exclusively for E.C.Andersson Watch Co. It comes equipped with an embossed steel buckle, red inner lining, and quick-release lug attachment.

Our first five-year plan was to bring as much production as possible to Gothenburg, and our past selves would be proud to see where we’ve landed. Amazing ideas are coming to life in our workshop and we’re constantly moving forward in a creative and independant direction. The North Sea Lux has been made possible using our own lathe, mill, bead-blaster, polisher, paintbrushes, tools and test equipment.
